  Introduction/Purpose

Welcome to Week 6!  There are a lot of assignments due this week, so plan accordingly and don't wait until the last minute! This week, you will explore the topics of cultural competence along with academic planning to get ready for the next term's registration, and creating a healthy lifestyle.  There will be a lot of different ideas presented within the cultural competence topic this week so settle in and have an open mind.  It can be difficult for some students to realize and accept that people are different and that's okay.  It's also difficult for some students to take care of themselves the way they know they should.  As a college student, you may be meeting new people for the first time who aren't like the people you grew up with.  This is a wonderful time to learn more about people and begin to grow into the person you are meant to be.

Each and every term you will need to meet with your academic advisor to complete your academic planning in order to register for the next term.  You will need to contact your advisor and set up a time to meet with them to do your academic planning. It's important to meet with your advisor regularly since they will know what classes in your program are offered during the year and how to stay on track with your program and your goals.  Information on Parts 1 and 2 for this assignment are located in the Week 3 module. Be sure to review the information if you need to!

This week you will have your second quiz which will be over Units 2 and 3, so be sure to plan your week accordingly to give yourself enough time to take this quiz!
