Computer Requirements
Hardware (PC): Microsoft Office is designed for PC’s running Windows operating systems. Using tablets, smartphones, Chromebooks and other hardware devices are not recommended as the full featured install version is unavailable for Chromebook Operating System. You can access your Microsoft 365 apps on a Chromebook from the web but does not include all the features you will use in the course.
It is important to note that the lab assignment instructions have been written for Office for Windows and not the MAC Office version. If a student decides to use a device other than a PC running Windows and MS Office for Windows, the student should be skilled in making the necessary adjustments using the MAC software version.
- Notes:
- If students do not have access to a computer off campus, there are many computers on campus (Buildings 3, 5, 6, 8, and LRC) students are welcome to use to participate fully in their courses. Most public libraries also have computers with internet access available.
- Students will need to have an up-to-date browser and operating system. Students may need some additional software on their computers to take this class. Check the KCC Distance Education webpage for hardware & software requirements.
- Some of the documents in this course may be available to you in PDF form. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader software on your computer, you can download it by going to http://get.adobe.com/reader .

Late Work Policy
Automatically apply a 10% deduction per day to late submissions, up to one week from the original due date.
Do not assume your assignment will be graded if it is submitted late and you fail to notify the instructor regarding the late submission.
Problems with your computer at home will not serve as a valid reason to turn in work late. Be sure to keep backups of your work always to avoid losing points should your computer suddenly fails to function, or your storage device crashes.
You are responsible for all material covered and all assignments given, regardless of personal illness, family emergency, or computer system failures. Reasonable deadlines have been set to ensure that you have ample time to complete all assignments, given that you do not wait until the last minute. Ideally, if you are seeking instructor assistance, contact the instructor at least three days prior to the due date.
If your computer and/or software is not functioning or for any reason does not meet the course requirements, you are strongly encouraged to use the campus computers to complete assignments. If you need assistance with hardware and software issues (i.e. installing Office 365) use the KCC Technology Help Desk and/or Canvas support. Contact information is posted on the course Home Page and clicking on the Technical Support tab.
